Hello, I am Sylvia Garcia Lopez.

Art has always been a part of my life and it brings me so much joy. I can't remember a time when I didn't doodle or make something. As I've gotten older, my Art Journey has taken me down many paths. I love exploring different media and styles and finding new ways to express myself. Music, textile arts, typography, architectural ornamentation, doodles, tie dye, and block printing are all things that inspire me. Nature is also a great source of inspiration for me. I love visiting botanical gardens and taking photos of florals, cacti, birds, butterflies, squirrels, and rabbits. Art brings me happiness and I hope to bring joy to others through my work.

In 2017, I discovered Surface Pattern Design and it has been a game-changer for my creative practice. I love creating repeatable patterns that can be used in any kind of product where the surface is visible. This could be fabric, wallpaper, wrapping paper - anything! I was instantly drawn to Surface Pattern Design because of the endless possibilities for creativity it provides. I loved that I could take my illustrations and turn them into practical, everyday products. Since 2017, I have been honing my Surface Pattern Design skills and expanding my knowledge of the field. I have completed several online courses and officially started BELLASYLDESIGN in 2019. Through my education, I have discovered that Surface Pattern Design is so much more than just making pretty patterns - it is a complex field with its own history, theory and technical considerations. 

In addition to creating surface pattern designs, Bellasyl Design also provides graphic services, such as designing flyers for events and customized obituary covers, booklets, and t-shirt designs.
